    What should I do if I have an unauthorized debit card transaction on my account?

    Please call us toll-free at 1-800-421-0004 and have your debit card number and statement with you when you call.

    How do I access my accounts online?

    You can access your accounts 24/7 using First Niagara online banking. It’s free — so enroll now. 

    How do I change my address with First Niagara?

    To update the address on your account(s), we encourage you to visit your nearest branch location and complete the change in person. If you aren’t able to visit a branch location, you can also submit your request through online banking. For online banking requests, simply log in, go to Home > Preferences > My Profile, make the address change and submit. To submit a verbal request by telephone, please contact us at 1-800-421-0004. This number is toll-free and is available during the following hours:

    Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET

    How can I open/close an account?

    For your convenience, you can open an account online or by visiting your local First Niagara branch. To close an account, you can visit your local branch or mail your request with a copy of valid identification* to:

    You can access your checks/statements via online banking 24/7, request them through the secured message link.  You can visit your local First Niagara branch, or call our 24-hour customer connection line at 716-625-7700 or 1-800-439-8230 toll-free.

    How do I place a stop payment?

    You can make stop payments for checks via online banking 24/7, by visiting your local branch, or call our 24-hour customer connection line at 716-625-7700 or 1-800-439-8230 toll-free.

    Note: A service charge of $35 will be assessed for each applied stop payment order. Stop payments initiated weekdays between 6:00 AM and 7:30 PM normally post immediately. Stop payments initiated after hours or during weekends and holidays will be processed the next business day.

    How can I transfer funds?

    You can transfer funds 24/7 via online banking. You can also visit your local branch or call our 24-hour customer connection line at 716-625-7700 or 1-800-439-8230 toll-free.

    How do I renew a Certificate of Deposit?

    Prior to your maturity date, you will receive a Certificate of Deposit (CD) renewal notice in the mail. You will have a 10-day grace period after the maturity date, during which you can select a different account term or deposit additional funds. To renew your CD, simply visit your local branch or mail your signed maturity notice to:

    What is Apple Pay™?

    Apple Pay allows customers with an eligible Apple® digital device to pay for purchases at retailers with contactless terminals once an eligible First Niagara credit or debit card has been added to the Passbook® application. No more searching for the right credit card. Customers can simply (and securely) hold their eligible Apple device near the terminal to make a payment. All First Niagara consumer credit and debit cards are eligible. Current First Niagara customers with credit and debit cards are automatically eligible to use Apple Pay.

    What is an HSA?

    A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-exempt trust or custodial account established exclusively for the purpose of paying qualified medical expenses for individuals covered under a high-deductible health plan.

    Who is eligible to have an HSA?

    "Eligible individuals" are any individuals who: are covered under a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) on the first day of the month; are not covered by any other health plan that is not an HDHP (with certain exceptions for plans providing certain limited types of coverage); are not entitled to benefits under Medicare (generally, have not yet reached age 65); and may not be claimed as a dependent on another person's tax return.
